From a perspective of downloads, this month’s rankings show a mix of leading titles such as Dootchi, Emochi, and Character AI maintaining top positions, alongside apps like Talky AI, My Darling, and MiraiMind, which achieved notable upward movement driven by strong MoM growth.

Among the Top 3, Dootchi: Chat with AI Chars climbed three positions to rank No. 1 in downloads, with MoM growth of 49.51%, making it the most representative breakout leader on the download side in April. Emochi slipped one position to No. 2, but still recorded 12.67% MoM growth, indicating that its user acquisition capability remains solid. Mid-tier products saw more pronounced shifts. Saylo rose two positions to No. 4 with 27.58% MoM growth; My Darling jumped six positions to No. 8 with 58.35% MoM growth; and Spicy Chat climbed four positions to No. 9 with 16.31% MoM growth. At the same time, several products experienced noticeable pullbacks in April. Weifu AI dropped three positions, with downloads declining 58.48% MoM; Cycle AI fell one position with a 46.97% MoM decline; and Lovia remained at No. 7 but saw downloads decrease 32.74% MoM. This underscores the continued volatility on the download side of the AI social category, where growth remains highly dependent on ad spend pacing, ad creative efficiency, and channel mix.

At the lower end of the rankings, multiple apps posted strong upward momentum. Talky AI surged nine positions to No. 12, with 82.19% MoM growth, the highest growth rate among all ranked apps. MiraiMind climbed six positions to No. 11 with 51.74% MoM growth, while SoulTalk rose four positions to No. 14 with 41.13% MoM growth. Overall, the April AI social app download rankings reflect an active reshuffling phase, while leading apps benefit from scale advantages, mid and lower tier products can still achieve significant elasticity through phased ad spend.

Top 15 AI Social Apps by Revenue

Compared with downloads, the revenue rankings show a more stable top-tier structure. Character AI, Emochi, Saylo, Dokichat, and Sweet AI occupy the Top 5 positions. Character AI continues to rank No. 1 in revenue; although revenue declined 13.94% MoM, it still demonstrates a strong lead in monetization capability.

Emochi and Saylo delivered steady revenue performance. Emochi held No. 2 with 39.11% MoM revenue growth, while Saylo remained at No. 3 with 8.48% MoM growth. Combined with their strong download rankings, both apps show a relatively stable conversion pipeline between user acquisition and monetization.

Growth elasticity was more pronounced in the mid-tier. Dootchi moved up one position to No. 6 on the revenue rankings, with revenue surging 107.63% MoM, echoing its rise to the top of the download rankings and demonstrating a strong pattern of simultaneous growth in both downloads and revenue. Magic climbed six positions to No. 11, posting 139.86% MoM revenue growth, one of the highest increases on the revenue leaderboard.

The most notable movers this month were Star Girl and Lovia. Star Girl jumped 20 positions to No. 13, with revenue soaring 301.18% MoM, making it the standout dark horse on the revenue side in April. Lovia rose seven positions to No. 14, with 123.62% MoM revenue growth. Neither app ranks particularly high on the download leaderboard, indicating that niche positioning, persona appeal, and payment conversion efficiency are becoming increasingly important competitive variables in AI social apps.

Overall, April’s AI social revenue rankings reflect a pattern of stable monetization at the top, stronger growth elasticity in the mid-to-lower tiers.” Leading apps rely on scale and mature user relationships to sustain revenue advantages, while mid- and lower-tier products can still achieve revenue breakouts through distinctive personas, vertical audiences, or phased ad spend strategies.

Top AI Social App UA Strategy Analysis

01 Character AI

Character AI: Chat, Talk, Text ranks No. 3 on the download leaderboard and No. 1 on the revenue leaderboard this month. Developed by Character.AI, it is a representative AI social product combining large-scale user adoption with strong monetization capability.

Character AI ad, download & revenue trends

Ad spend pacing saw Character AI maintain a relatively stable volume of ad creatives from mid-March through late April, with active creative counts consistently at a high level and a noticeable uptick in late April. Compared with aggressive scaling-focused products, its curve more closely resembles a mature leader’s sustained user acquisition model, prioritizing ongoing presence and continuous reach rather than short-term spikes.

In terms of channel structure, traffic is highly concentrated on AdMob, accounting for 93.07% of spend. Meta Audience Network and TikTok contribute 4.37% and 2.57%, respectively. This structure indicates a strong reliance on Google’s ecosystem for scaled distribution, with other channels playing a supplementary role.

Geographically, ad delivery is relatively diversified. The Top 3 ad spend regions are the United States (7.55%), Brazil (5.75%), and Mexico (5.10%). Download sources are led by the United States (15.03%), Russia (9.53%), and India (9.35%), while revenue sources are concentrated in Germany (16.01%), the United States (11.77%), and Russia (9.31%). Downloads and revenue are not fully aligned geographically, with Europe and North America contributing more value on the revenue side.

On the creative strategy side, its ad creatives emphasize the breadth of characters and interaction scenarios. One creative approach uses real-person voiceovers and role-play settings to create immersion, framing AI chat as a fantasy interaction embedded in everyday life. Another approach directly showcases the character library, highlighting diverse identities, personalities, and interest tags to reinforce the idea that “there’s always someone you want to talk to.”

Overall, Character AI has entered a mature leader phase. Rather than relying on a single high-intensity hook, its advertising strategy reinforces scale advantages through stable ad spend, abundant character supply, and multi-scenario storytelling.

02 Lovia

Lovia: AI Character Chat is developed by Amobear Application - Entertainment. This month, Lovia ranks No. 7 on the download leaderboard, with downloads down 32.74% MoM, but climbs seven positions to No. 14 on the revenue leaderboard, with revenue up 123.62% MoM, showing a clear divergence between downloads and monetization.

Lovia ad, download & revenue trends

Ad spend pacing for Lovia revealed a high ad creative peak in late March, followed by a pullback and fluctuating phase. Ad activity picked up again in mid-to-late April, with a noticeable spike at month-end. This suggests a phased testing and reinforcement approach across different creatives or markets rather than continuous large-scale spending.

Excluding database traffic, the channel structure is anchored by Mintegral as the primary channel, accounting for 71.25% of spend, followed by AdMob (15.41%) and Unity (9.06%). This mix aligns with its strategy of testing growth across multiple regions.

From a geographic standpoint, Lovia’s primary ad spend markets are Japan (14.18%), Germany (9.38%), and the United States (8.89%). However, downloads are concentrated in Mexico (23.20%), Turkey (10.64%), and Colombia (10.03%), while revenue sources are also led by Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. This structure shows that Lovia’s conversion and monetization focus skews strongly toward Latin America, with Mexico ranking first for both downloads and revenue.

When it comes to creative strategy, Lovia places strong emphasis on a humanized AI companion presentation. Ad creatives commonly combine virtual female characters, mobile UI footage, and real-person appearances, using strong messaging such as “Finally, an AI with a real attitude!” to highlight personality, interactive feedback, and emotional companionship. Another creative type features AI-generated female characters introducing themselves, reinforcing intimacy and relationship-building.

Overall, Lovia’s revenue growth is driven by Latin American markets, AI companion personas, and emotionally charged hooks, illustrating that precise persona design and regional market fit can be more critical than sheer download scale in mid-tier competition.

03 Star Girl

Star Girl: Cosmic Conversations, developed by Akeynan Apps, ranks No. 13 on the revenue leaderboard this month, jumping 20 positions with 301.18% MoM revenue growth, making it one of the most prominent revenue growth cases among AI social apps in April.

Star Girl ad, download & revenue trends

Star Girl's ad spend pacing shows a clear ramp-up in ad creative volume from late March to early April, peaking in early April. Spend then tapered off, stabilizing at a lower but consistent level in late April. This pattern suggests a short-term intensive testing phase followed by creative selection and optimization.

Turning to channel structure, and excluding database traffic, Star Girl, like Character AI, relies heavily on AdMob, which accounts for 92.66% of spend. Pangle contributes 6.59%, and YouTube 0.52%.

From a geographic perspective, the main ad spend markets are the United States (7.85%), Australia (7.34%), and the United Kingdom (7.08%). Downloads are highly concentrated in the United States (41.22%), followed by Germany (17.95%) and the United Kingdom (7.98%). Revenue is concentrated in Germany (43.36%), the United States (36.07%), and the United Kingdom (5.91%). This indicates that both user acquisition and monetization are heavily focused on Western markets, with Germany showing particularly strong revenue value.

As for creative strategy, Star Girl has a clearly differentiated positioning. Its ad creatives revolve around anime-style female characters, character cards, and virtual interactions. Character pools, tags, dynamic gestures, and bold subtitles work together to reinforce an experience centered on selection, interactivity, and companionship.

Unlike Lovia, which leans toward realistic AI companions, Star Girl focuses on male-oriented, anime-inspired fantasy companionship. Its user base carries more focused expectations, making monetization easier to trigger through specific characters and visual styles.

Overall, Star Girl’s revenue surge highlights the monetization potential of AI social apps targeting vertical audiences. Compared with broader social platforms, vertically positioned products may not achieve the largest download volumes, but when character design, visual style, and target market are well aligned, they can generate significantly greater elasticity on the revenue side.
