Author: Rey
Label:Short Drama

Insightrackr reviewed global mobile market data for short drama apps in June 2026, ranking apps by estimated downloads and estimated total revenue.

The download ranking is based on Insightrackr’s estimated app downloads, while the revenue ranking reflects estimated total revenue, including both IAP and IAA. Beyond the Top 15 charts, this report also looks at selected apps’ UA activity, including ad volume trends, channel mix, market distribution, and creative strategy.

Apps selected for deeper UA analysis this month:Rigi TV, Dot Drama, Melolo.

Top 15 Short Drama Apps by Downloads

June's download chart was more active than the revenue chart. Leading apps still held scale, but most of the visible momentum came from apps outside the very top.

Melolo was the clearest top-five climber, with downloads up 65.18% MoM. Its move matters because it combined scale with later revenue strength, not just short-term traffic growth.

The middle tier showed the strongest elasticity. DramaWave, StardustTV, Kuku TV, and Rigi TV all posted notable download gains, suggesting that focused UA pushes and fresh creatives can still move the market quickly.

Dot Drama also moved up meaningfully, while QuickTV pulled back. The contrast points to a market where mid-tier positions remain fluid and campaign timing can change ranking outcomes within a month.

Takeaway: the download market is not locked up by the top apps. Mid-tier players can still climb quickly when regional targeting, UA timing, and creative refresh are aligned.

Top 15 Global Short Drama Apps by Revenue

Revenue was more concentrated and less upbeat. NetShort, DramaReels, DramaBox, and ReelShort stayed near the top, but each faced MoM pressure.

The steadier growth signals came from DramaWave, Melolo, and StardustTV. Their download-side performance also showed up in revenue, indicating better alignment between user acquisition and monetization.

Mid-tier revenue growth was more selective. PineDrama, Kuku TV, and Micro Drama improved, but the broader pattern suggests that downloads do not automatically convert into revenue without the right market and audience mix.

Takeaway: revenue is still controlled by the top apps. For mid-tier players, moving up the revenue chart depends less on download spikes and more on converting users in priority markets.

Top Short Drama App UA Strategy Analysis

01 Rigi TV

Rigi TV is best read as a regional-fit case. It ranked No. 11 by downloads, up four spots, but remained outside the revenue top 15.

Its creative volume peaked in late May and cooled in June. That pattern suggests June's download lift was not driven by a fresh volume surge alone, but by earlier campaign learning and market fit.

Rigi TV ad, download & revenue trends

The channel mix was strongly FAN-led, with AdMob and InMobi playing smaller roles. Traffic leaned toward broad entertainment and light-gaming inventory rather than a highly diversified channel setup.

India was the clear anchor market. Ad delivery, downloads, and revenue all centered on India and nearby South Asian markets, giving Rigi TV a relatively coherent acquisition-to-conversion path.

This alignment is the key point: Rigi TV's media buying and conversion markets were not scattered.

Creatively, Rigi TV leaned into localized drama cues: app-library browsing, wedding scenes, family conflict, class/status gaps, and romantic tension.

The stronger examples combined a clear South Asian setting with fast emotional escalation. The goal was simple: make the app feel locally relevant while giving viewers an immediate reason to continue watching.

Rigi TV shows that localized packaging can still create download upside in competitive short drama markets, especially when regional content cues match the buying strategy.

02 Dot Drama

Dot Drama is a multi-market testing case. Published by Agile Teams, it climbed to No. 14 by downloads and also improved on revenue, though it remained outside the revenue top 15.

Its June creative cadence was steadier than Rigi TV's. Active creatives mostly stayed in the 800-1,000 range, with short peaks early and late in the month, pointing to ongoing iteration rather than a single burst.

Dot Drama ad, download & revenue trends

The channel mix was highly concentrated on Facebook Audience Network. Other channels looked more like test or supplement channels than core scaling engines.

Its geography was more dispersed. Downloads came mainly from Indonesia and Brazil, while revenue also drew from the U.S. and Mexico. This suggests Dot Drama was using scale markets for acquisition while monetizing across a broader mix.

The creative direction split into emotional conflict and fantasy.

One track used family relationships, identity reversals, and confrontation scenes to sell free viewing and plot twists.

Another track used fantasy battles and direct free-access claims such as "100% Free" and "All episodes are completely free!"

Dot Drama's growth came from a narrow channel engine, broad market coverage, and a blunt but effective free-content hook.

03 Melolo

Melolo is the strongest balanced-growth case in this set. It ranked No. 5 by downloads and No. 6 by revenue, showing both acquisition scale and monetization traction.

Its creative operation was also more mature. Active creatives stayed high through June, with repeated peaks and regular new-material cycles, suggesting a system built around continuous refresh.

Melolo ad, download & revenue trends

Unlike Rigi TV and Dot Drama, Melolo used a more diversified channel mix across FAN, Pangle, and AdMob. That makes its growth less dependent on a single traffic source.

Indonesia was the core market across ad delivery, downloads, and revenue. Thailand and the Philippines also contributed, but Indonesia was the main conversion loop.

This is the difference between reach and a working market base: Melolo had both traffic volume and a clear center of monetization.

On creative strategy, Melolo used localized Indonesian copy to make the viewing benefit explicit: complete dramas, free access, and episode-one-to-finale availability.

It also tested broader English fantasy themes, combining werewolf and moon-goddess motifs with reward-based viewing messages to reach wider short drama audiences.

Melolo's case is the most complete: multi-channel buying, a clear Indonesia focus, and a creative supply that balances localized romance with broader fantasy hooks.

June 2026 summary: short drama growth remains available, but the strongest cases were not just bigger spenders. They showed clearer links between market choice, channel setup, creative supply, and conversion.
